Ancient Greek Living History

We are a living history group dedicated to recreating the life and experiences of the Classical Greek period. With members from all over the UK and a few in mainland Europe as well, our interests span all aspects of the Greek sphere of activity throughout the period 490 - 430 BC. We portray not only Greeks, but also their allies and enemies.

We are a fun, friendly, family orientated group

United by a passion for living history, we take part in both public event and private training and social get-togethers. A strong sense of community is a large part of what makes re-enactment so fun. It's a unique way to move away from trials and tribulations of modern life, don your Ancient Greek personality, and have fun!

UNEARTHED: Filming The Battle of Thermopylae

A dynamic, international-facing group

We regularly invite fellow reenactment groups from abroad to our UK events, which gives our camps a very international feel. Groups members have participated in events in Greece such as the reenactment of the Battle of Marathon, and plans are already afoot to attend the reenactment of the battle of Plataea in 2021.

We are also very involved with historical hands on research, cooperating with authors and documentary producers. Recently members took part in onsite filming in Greece for a documentary about the Battle of Thermopylae for the Science Channel.

Shows

Ancient Greek military drill and battle reenactment, living history displays, and visit our Ancient Greek encampment.

Symposiums

In addition to public events, we regularly get together for social or training gatherings, from immersive weekends full of Ancient Greek food and culture, to a planned trip to the pub.

Special events can be anything, a lecture, film work, even a parade!
